Heroes Orchestra

Neulich (nagut... vor ca. 3 Jahren) stolperte ich über ein Musikstück, das ich hier gerne teilen möchte: Das Alte Lager-Thema, das ohnehin mein Lieblings-Stück aus dem Gothic-Soundtrack ist, gespielt von einem Orchester, das sich auf Spiel-Soundtracks spezialisiert hat.

Ich habe mit Mateusz Alberski gesprochen, der das Heroes Orchestra gegründet hat. Er hat Dirigieren an der Uniwersytet Muzyczny Fryderyka Chopina in Warschau studiert und beschloss 2017 mit einigen Freunden, die Musik aus der Spiel-Reihe Heroes of Might and Magic, vor Allem aus Teil III und IV, zu spielen. 

 

Seitdem ist nicht nur das Orchester auf etwa 120 Musiker angewachsen, auch das Repertoire wurde deutlich erweitert. So spielt das Ensemble z.B. auch Stücke aus Icewind Dale, Baldur's Gate, World of Warcraft, Witcher III und mehr. Und natürlich auch aus Gothic und Gothic II! (Und Gothic 3.)

Heroes Orchestra

A little while ago I stumbled upon this piece of music that I'd like to share with you: the Old Camp theme, which has always been my favourite track from the Gothic soundtrack, played by an Orchestra that specialises in game soundtracks.

I talked to Meteusz Alberski, the founder of the Heroes Orchestra. He studied conducting at the Uniwersytet Muzyczny Fryderyka Chopina in Warsaw. In 2017 he and a couple of friends decided to band together and play some music from the Heroes of Might and Magic series, especially parts III and IV.

 

Since then not only did the Orchestra grow to about 120 musicians, but also their repertoire expanded to include music from Icewind Dale, Baldur's Gate, World of Warcraft, Witcher III, and more. And of course Gothic and Gothic II! (And Gothic 3.)
